Akari's Wish
Akari's heart pounded as she ventured into the icy wilderness, her mother's life hanging in the balance. Armed with only her wits and a wooden whistle, fashioned to mimic the Tane bird's song, she sought the mythical animal said to grant wishes. From the legend, she knew only that this creature appeared uniquely during the winter solstice, preyed on Tane birds and was utterly undetectable to the human eye. Yet, she remained undeterred, knowing this was her last hope. Her plan was daring, but she knew that the snow, her ally, would reveal the creature's presence.

Finding Joy
“How could he betray me like this?", I thought. Only a few weeks ago, Luka and I were a team, conquering the world together, spending our days and nights roaming around, staring happily into each other's eyes, laying on the floor, looking at the ceiling, just taking in the joy of living.

A Note on Resolutions vs. Intentions Perhaps not many people have experienced this, but as a spiritual person, interested in awareness and personal development, in the past year I've seen a rise of the word "intention" over "resolution".

I'm A Tree (Part II)
A few weeks ago, I wrote a piece called "I'm a Tree". The main theme was that, like trees, we humans go through the seasons in our lives over and over. Each season brings something new, and as we move from one to the other we experience transformation. Winter (literally and metaphorically) may leave us bare, in the cold and dark hours, but we will resist and we will emerge ready for spring and a new beginning to come.

The Purple Dragon
Perhaps, I had a life before that moment. I cannot remember anymore. When I first noticed her, she was standing petrified next to an apple tree, scanning her surroundings. Light sobs were beginning to form, tinged with uncertainty. "Mama?".

Even though the past two years have been comparable to surviving a thunderstorm in the open sea. I'm grateful to be living in a place somewhere close to nature. I get to go to a beautiful, lush park close to home and have walks that help me clear my own internal storms.

Goodbye, Broken Planet
Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. Not that anyone would hear me anyway. I can barely speak after The Blackout. It was the toxic fumes. Now, my voice cracks just above the volume of a whisper. However, most of the time it does not sadden me that I cannot speak as before. Maybe it is because I have nothing to say. Maybe I am at a permanent loss for words. The world ending can have that effect.

Easy Workout Ideas for Couch Potatoes (Like Me)
If being healthier and/or getting in better shape was one of your New Year's resolutions this 2022, you're not alone. In fact, more than 90% of people's resolutions each year are fitness related, like losing weight and getting healthier. But... if you're now having trouble sticking to your goals, you're also not alone.
