with a face like that...

You may be wondering how and why dogs are the best pets. Well, simply put, dogs are not only our cuddly companions, but also bring a lot of health benefits. Various research studies have shown that having a dog as a pet can lower your stress levels significantly. They also decrease asthma risk in children and lower blood pressure in adults.

Experts say that it is better to give a dog the title “Man’s Best Friend.” In fact, I think that they actually deserve this title. It is because they are intelligent, loyal, affectionate, and devoted.

Dogs are known to improve your physical and mental health. However, it is important to keep in mind that dogs being such great companions depends on your lifestyle as well as the environment you live in.

In this article, I am going to tell you about your (or definitely my) favorite fluffy companions (dogs), and in what way they can benefit your physical and mental health. Read on!

Friendliness

You may not agree, but the truth is that when you have a pet cat, it won’t care about you unless you (the owner) bring them food. Similarly, fish are happy as long as you drop pellets into the fish tank each day. Hamsters don’t need owners when they have a wonderful spinning wheel.

On the other hand, dogs love to be around their owners as much as owners love to be around them. Dogs will sit with their owner on the couch, follow them into the garage, kitchen, or any other place—particularly, your dog will sleep with you at night time and serve your greatly as a co-pilot on rides.

Dogs are great pets and want to please their owners. So much so, their friendly attitude and behavior go a long way in helping them succeed.

Health Benefits

A number of research studies have revealed that dog owners have lower levels of cholesterol and blood pressure than non-dog owners. Likewise, they are less likely to have serious or minor health problems.

If you have a dog, I am guessing you have a much stronger immune system. It is because a dog helps you stay well and spend less time getting over bugs and sickness. Actually, you will be amazed to know that dog owners in the United States visit the hospital or doctor less often, and are less likely to be on medication.

If you have a dog, you will recover fast from diseases—even people have higher rates of surviving a heart attack. Young individuals with chronic illness cope better with health treatment when they have a great canine companion.

In addition, dogs provide us with a great sense of psychological health thanks to their unconditional love. Also, they provide comfort and company to people who live alone.

Owning a pet dog can also help individuals to recover from personal trauma—for instance, bereavement. The ownership of a dog can likewise help those with psychological health issues to recover and feel better.

Moreover, a dog is also a great companion when it comes to your fitness level. For example, you can take your dog for regular walks—so it improves your level of fitness. This, in turn, keeps you healthy.

Conclusion

There is absolutely no doubt that having a dog as a pet can bring numerous upsides to your life. I mean to say, how can you not live happily waking up seeing a great smiley face and wagging tail?

Therefore, I recommend you to have a furry friend because it can bring happiness in your life. They not only increase your mood dramatically, but also help reduce the risks of cardiovascular diseases, protect your children from allergies and skin conditions, encourage a healthy fitness routine, and improve physical wellbeing.
