Maya’s Second Family

A Little Look into Maya’s Story

Dear Reader,

Hi. My name is Maya and I am two-years-old. I love long walks and chasing squirrels but I hate bath time and not being allowed upstairs. I thought that I would tell you about the time that I met my second family. Yes, you heard me right, my second family.

I was born on 11 September 2015 and eight weeks later, I met my mum and my dad. I had a great, little life with my mum and my dad but sadly it came an end. I’m not really sure what happened, but one day everything was okay and then the next I was living temporarily in the kennels. My grandpa came to visit me once a week and he explained that my mum and dad were very sorry. They were breaking up and, unfortunately, my mum couldn’t look after me because she was moving away. I’m not sure what happened with my dad, though.

I didn’t really spend much time at the kennels, but the people there were amazing and played with me lots, but they did talk about how I wouldn’t be able to stay for very long and that I would have to go to a Husky shelter. However, one day a man came to visit me. He told me that I was beautiful and then said that he wanted to take me home, but would have to introduce me to his other dogs first.

The next day, I met my future brother and sister. My brother, Bruno, barked me a lot and I knew not to mess with him. My sister, Lilly, was more quiet and wanted to play with me. I also met my future human sister who told me that I was beautiful. It didn’t take very long as the next day my new dad and human sister came to pick me up from the kennels to take me home with them.

Going into the home was strange and I was scared and hid in the garage. My new mum was very kind and calm and left me to sit alone so that I could get used to everything but my human sister came to keep me company which was nice. My new human brother is pretty cool too.

I love my new family because my mum gives me lots of treats, my dad walks me up really big hills and mountains, my human sister gives me lots of cuddles, and my human brother calls me beautiful. Bruno and Lilly are okay, too, but I definitely rule the pack.

Love, Maya

Did you know that Huskies are one of the most abandoned breeds? It’s getting so bad that Huskies have their own, separate shelters because of the amount that are abandoned. Not all of them are horrible situations. Maya’s wasn’t, but all it takes is a break up, moving away, or health condition to send a dog to a shelter. Huskies are a lot of work. If you are thinking about a Husky pup, then you need to do your research. Please.
