How To Care For Your Dog

Our pets are a great extension of our family and for those of us that don’t have children our pets take that place in our lives. Just like a mother protects her children at all cost our pets deserve the same protection. Sometimes animals, such as show dogs, can cost thousands of dollars and criminals look for the right opportunity to snatch them right out of your own backyard.

Doggie Daycare

If we would have heard the term “Doggie Daycare” ten years ago, we would have probably laughed out loud because they weren’t around then. In the past five years or so doggie daycare and pet hotels have become extremely popular. Now there are many to choose from and more than likely there is one either close to your home or close to your work. These types of dog facilities offer you the service of having your dog taken care of while you are at work or on vacation. Prices will vary from place to place but you can drop your dog off for an hour, for the day or even for a week if you plan on being away that long. They usually charge by the hour and they will provide food, grooming, and activities for your dog. It’s not only a great way to keep your dog safe while you are gone but it also allows your dog to interact with the other animals that are there at the daycare. You can even pay for a private room for your dog and one on one time with an attendant or trainer.

Security System

Just like security systems protect people they can protect your animals as well. Placing the Wireless Security Cameras throughout the inside of your home and the outer perimeter of your home will help you keep an eye on them while you are away. With wireless cameras you can pretty much hide them anywhere and with the technology available today you will be able to log into the cameras through your smartphone or computer and you can check on them sporadically during the day. This will give you peace of mind knowing that at any time with a click of a button you can see exactly what they are doing and make sure that no unwanted guests are trying to steal them. A good security system for your home will cost around five to eight hundred dollars. The cameras will serve multiple purposes because not only will they help you keep your animals safe but they will provide security for your home at the same time.

Dog Sitter

This type of service is a little more personable for your pet because they will get the undivided attention of one individual. They will also get to stay in their own homes with their own familiar surroundings and a sitter will come to you. You can expect to pay anywhere from ten to fifteen dollars an hour for a pet sitter and they will feed, walk, bathe and play with your dog during the time they are there. If you choose to have a dog sitter come to you it’s always a good idea to give the sitter detailed instructions on what you want done with the dog, the dogs eating and bathroom schedule and even let them know how you want them to play with the dog. If your dog has ever bitten or tried to bite anyone at any time you must disclose this information to the sitter.

Taking these first few steps to ensure the safety of your pets will get you on the right track. Research one or all of the options listed to see which ones are best for you. If you choose to go with a pet sitter then you can treat it like any other job openings and interview multiple people before you make your final decision.
